From the Aiguille du Midi, depending on the weather, you may want to embark on the highest cable car in the world, which connects France to Italy as far as Point Helbronner in Italy. During the journey, it’s as if you are suspended in the air and you fly over the Glacier du Géant.
While watching attentively, you will notice the mountaineers completing their climb, or some slightly further away heading for Mont-Blanc. During the journey, the cable car slows down three times; this is the perfect opportunity for you to take out your camera!
Ready to head for one of the many balcony trail around the magnificent chain of the mythical Mont-Blanc? So on the way to perseverance and humility. One of our mountain leader dedicated to you will adjust the route according to your level and expectations. The Aiguille de Bionnassay, the Aiguille du Goûter and so many other exceptional sites unfold their dizzying peaks for you to see. How great and generous nature is! MAGNIFICENCE OF THE LAKESIDE
Savor all the charm of Lake Annecy, the second largest in France, wich is known to have one of the purest waters in the world. Here the dream of crystal clear water and wooden jetties is a reality! Your hotel, the Palace hotel in Menthon Saint-Bernard is located on the shores of the beautiful Lake Annecy. Along with its heavenly lakeside location, it offers world-class hotel services.
With three days to spend in the Annecy region, between the turquoise waters and the majestic surrounding mountains, you can choose between activity or relaxation. There’s no end to the list of things to do here, so do as you see fit!
Head to the Bar terrace for a spot of lunch or to sip a cocktail or a cappuccino, while taking in the charm and the magic of the lake. Relax on the hotel’s private beach or take a canoe, a pedal boat or opt for a water ski tour unless you want to take a dip in the turquoise waters of the lake. An afternoon hike will increase your energy, at the Roc de Chère for example, which offers you different points of view allowing you to contemplate the lake in peace or around Lanfonnet via the Col des Frêtes in the mountain pastures of the ‘Aulp Riant’, a name that aspires to relaxation! Perhaps you’ll want to climb the Col de la Forclaz, a famous section of the Tour de France, and admire the view of the Lake.
The next morning, you’ll spend a part of the day exploring the lake on a private boat. During your stay, you will no doubt want to immerse yourself in the surrounding countryside, and luckily there are plenty of ways to do so. Biking on the shores of the lake for a picnic day is a must to soak up the beauty of Lake Annecy and the surrounding Alps.
MEDIEVAL JEWEL OF THE HAUTE SAVOIE
The next day let impregnate yourself of the various beauties of the city of Annecy, nicknamed the “little Venice of the Alps”. We’ll arrange for a local guide to be on hand to tell you more about this medieval gem, while allowing you to explore at your own pace its cobblestone streets. Its houses running alongside the river Thious, its famous flowery Lover’s Bridge, the Palais de l’Ile and many other treasures will charm you with its authenticity.
You wouldn’t visit the Savoie without sampling the unique Savoyard cuisine. Explore French local dishes meticulously prepared in a modern mountain-style setting where you will not fail to be impressed! Having taken traditional recipes, the chef use seasonal and market produce to revisit the heritage of their ancestor’s.
Enter a unique cheese shop which offers the best of Savoyard cheese pastas. Pierre Gay, cheese maker in Annecy for three generations, is a figure in his profession. Tomette de ewe, buckshot from Aravis, vacherin des Bauges, bleu de Termignon, to name but a few, are pleasant alpine treasures to taste to be touched! Don’t miss the chance to see the cheese aging in the cellar under your feet near the back of the store.
Choose a spot to grab an afternoon tea and sample the Gâteau de Savoie and the Brioche aux Pralines or the Philippe Rigollot -the ancient master of desserts for Anne-Sophie Pic in Valence – fine pastries. His“Caracas”, “Ginger” milk chocolate, “Crunchy” raspberry, Saint- Honoré with red berries or Mr Smith pie with baked and raw apple marmalade are a work of art!
