VISIT MACON, BURGUNDY
WE TAKE YOU TO A PRIVATE WINE TOUR IN BOURGOGNE MACONNAIS & AROUND
Chardonnay occupies 51% of the wine-growing area in Burgundy, offering, as far as the eye can see, its magnificent hillside landscapes followed by trays, planted with this grape variety from the Mâconnais.
The Mâconnais is located in the south of Burgundy, it is the southernmost vineyard in the region. It stretches 50 kilometers long, between Sennecey-le-Grand in the north and Saint-Véran to the Beaujolais border and covers around 5,600 hectares.
Traveling the Mâconnais wine route means having the opportunity to discover five greatest appellations, among the most prestigious in Burgundy, which are Pouilly-Fuissé, Pouilly-Vinzelles, Pouilly-Loché, Saint -Véran and Viré-Clessé.
Between tastings in renowned family estates, you will discover real treasures, including the rock of Solutré and Vergisson. In the footsteps of Alphonse de Lamartine, who described the rocks of Solutré and Vergisson as “Two petrified ships overlooking a sea of vines” or of President François Mitterand, climb them to observe “what goes, what comes, what moves and especially what does not move “before meeting around a traditional lunch in the vineyards in the middle of extraordinary landscapes, at a wine maker’s or in renowned restaurants.
Private wine makers will make you taste the wines from barrels, open 18 years old bottles. Owners will make you fully understand what an 8th generation wine makers feels for the vines of his ancestors. Welcome to a unique gastronomic and oenological experience in Burgundy.
We have no fixed itinerary, because at In-Luxe Travel France, true luxury follows no one else but you and combines rarity, knowledge, know-how, intuition. Take these itineraries as simply suggestions for the kind of holiday you might have in Burgundy.
From Chablis to Puligny-Montrachet, passing through Morey-Saint-Denis, Nuits St-Georges and Meursault, we know little things when it comes to combine haute cuisine and world-class wines, accompanied by the privilege of discovering and tasting great wines told by those who create them.
Our prestigious Grands Crus and Premiers Crus Wine Tours in Burgundy are created to deliver a cultural and human experience like no other, populated by enriching and exceptional encounters with the winegrowers along with tastings of some of their legendary wines.
