With its expanses of rolling vineyards around dazzling towns and villages under the whiteness of the white tufa stone, its magical castles dating from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, not to mention the many cathedrals, monasteries and other historical monuments, the Loire Valley is a living testimony to mankind’s golden age and it’s not hard to see why UNESCO inscribed a 280 km stretch on the World Heritage List.
The Loire Valley is also the leading production area for white wines in France, the second for rosé AOCs and the third for AOC wines in general, offering an unrivaled range of styles. Navigating through its 70,000 hectares of vines spread over 1,000 km divided into 69 AOC wines (Appellations d’Origine Contrôlées), its 7,000 wine estates could take months.

Our luxury wine tours in the Loire Valley take you to the heart of landscapes of great beauty, dotted with historic towns and villages, great architectural monuments, its terroirs, cultivated and shaped by centuries of interaction between populations and their environment, in particular the Loire itself. White wines from Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay or a blend of grape varieties, red wines from Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir or Gamay, our luxury wine tours make you discover the best white, red and rosé wines from the Loire Valley through appellations such as Pouilly, Vouvray, Chinon, Anjou.
In the most exclusive Loire Valley cellars, you will meet families of winemakers from father to son and mother to daughter, who will tell you about their way of making their wine, tasting a variety of whites, rosés and reds.

EXCEPTIONAL WINE TASTING OF CHINON RED WINES

Our oenologist will take you to discover the star wines of the Loire that are the wines of Chinon, a town located at the confluence of the Loire and the Vienne. The view from the ramparts of the chateau gives you a glimpse of its vineyard, mainly planted with Cabernet Franc which gives highly sought-after red wines, silky but powerful, from the clay-limestone hillsides. You will learn its characteristics, its very typical nose marked by red fruits, raspberry, blackcurrant, currant, blackberry, but also by floral notes such as violet, and spicy fragrances.

Although eclipsed by the notoriety of red, you will also taste its white wines, made from Chenin Blanc, with a pale yellow color with green highlights, a nose marked by notes of quince, apple and citrus. You will discover the exceptional heritage of Chinon, its castle and its Saint-Mexme collegiate church registered on the first list of historic monuments in 1840 and its twenty protected monuments.

SAUMUR-CHAMPIGNY HISTORIC VINEYARD AND TROGLODYTE CELLARS

Around the medieval city of Saumur overlooking the Loire, vineyards, sumptuous houses, rivers, forests and clearings punctuate the landscape which is presented as a plateau of tufa where dug caves, troglodyte dwellings and marvelous castles will open their doors to you.
Saumur is a historic vineyard that would have been created by Saint-Martin in the 4th century, and an important wine trading place since the 12th century. It is also the Loire vineyard best known place for its chalk soils, and for its large concentration of troglodyte caves over approximately 1000 km of galleries !

You will taste prodigious wines of the much sought-after Saumur-Champigny, one of the great red wines of the Loire, not far from Chinon and Bourgueil. With intense ruby color with purple reflections and notes of red and black fruits with sharpness, raspberry, strawberry, currant, blackberry…it is a treat ! Red Saumur, sparkling white or rosé Samur, you will know everything about this major appellation of the Loire vineyards.

Our oenologist take you then to Angers, capital of Anjou wines, a mythical city for its royal history and acclaimed for its completely unique wines, before participating in a tasting of the great lord of the dry white wines of the Loire: the Savennières appellation. Here the landscapes are sumptuous and the vines have been present since the Romans.

LOIRE VALLEY CASTLES PRIVATE DISCOVERY

No one can claim to have seen the Loire Valley without visiting some of its chateaux, gardens and other historic sites.
A private discovery of the Amboise Château, Royal residence of Charles VIII and François I, will take you round the royal dwellings, the Orient garden, the basement and the towers.
It was here at Amboise that Leonardo da Vinci came to live in 1516 and here that he finished his life in 1519. He was buried in the cloister of the Château before being transferred, it is thought, to the Saint-Hubert Chapel, a gem of Gothic art.
François I had the Château de Cloux converted for him, today called Clos-Lucé. Your guide will take you behind the scenes of this home as well as the park which offers a cultural experience, where you can enjoy the art and visions of this Italian genius.
