The forest surrounding the chateau is amazing. The estate covers 5440 ha and is the largest enclosed forest park in Europe. Fauna and flora are preserved and big game is the king of the area.
In the forest, we suggest you to stop at one of the observation posts along the Estate’s lanes for a few moments and open your ears and eyes to listen to the sounds of nature and spot a few of the forest’s residents roaming in the distant meadows or on the edge of the trees.
Cycle paths are over 12 kilometers and are properly laid-out and signposted but perhaps will you prefer boating. Boat rental is available in Chambord from Easter to november.
