It is between mountains and sea bathed in sunshine 300 days a year, enveloped in an air where scents of scrubland, thyme, heather and broom mingle with the sound of crickets, that we take wine enthusiasts on the road. wines from Châteauneuf du Pape, undisputed king of the Southern Rhône valley, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Côtes de Provence, Côteaux Varois, taste some of the best wines and discover the styles and characteristics of each domain in the southern Rhône, illustrated with stories from winemakers.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the undisputed King of the Southern Rhone Valley

Our tailor-made luxury wine tours in Provence take you to visit the prestigious vineyards and cellars of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, exploited since the Middle Ages, testimonies of the influence of the popes on these lands whose wines were called “Vin du Pape” (Popes wine).
Although Grenache remains the dominant grape variety, our winegrowers will teach you the characteristics of each of the 13 grape varieties that can enter into the composition of the wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, thanks to which part of the history of the popes of Avignon is exported in the whole world.

In Gigondas, located in the heart of the Dentelles de Montmirail, Jucunditas in Latin which means joy and hapiness, a fairly young appellation which only obtained the AOC in 1971, the winegrowers will take you to the heart of their cellars to tell you about this two-thousand-year-old terroir, whose complexity allows a wide aromatic palette, between fruity aromas and spicy notes.

We will help you look for a few precious bottles of the wine producers who produce an old vine cuvee from pre-phylloxera vines that are almost impossible to find as so little is made.

Cotes de Provence Grand Cru wines tour

Your wine tour will lead you from private wine tastings of red wines from Vacqueyras, part of the Cotes du Rhone until 1990 when it was granted AOC status, to the tiny appellation of Beaumes de Venise, the smallest one in the Rhone Valley that produces red wine. You will cross the picturesque villages of Lafare, La Roque Alric and Suzette and take the opportunity to visit one of the oldest ancient Romanesque churches, the Notre Dame d’Aubune chapel, with its old tower built in the 9th century.

Your tasting trail will take you to the Grand Cru wines of Cotes de Provence, the first region in France known as Provincia Nostra by the Romans, where the ancient Romans planted vines and of course the rose’ paradize. Grenache, Cinsaut, Syrah, Mourvedre, Tibouren and Vermentino allied to a warm, sunny and dry climate, will reveal their characteristics to you.

Undulating terraces where vines and olive trees have flourished for more than 2,500 years, perched villages of Provence with labyrinthine alleys, shaded terraces with panorama, and in the evening, by the swimming pool, the glass full of the whirlwinds of summer, you will savor the happiness of an exceptional wine holiday in Provence.
