Upon the request of François Coty the great perfumer who built this chateau with grandiose installations, in 1912, which will become a hotel in 1961, a chapel which had to be the exact copy of the one of Versailles but a quarter of its size, was built at the entrance, Nothing was too good for the perfumer : staircase in polished Lens stone, the dining room paved with Carrara marble inlaid with bronze patterns, the columns with capitals carved and gilded with gold leaf … Without a doub the most spectacular room of Chateau d’Artigny, the rotunda on the first floor, centerpiece of the castle, a reception room with high windows overlooking the valley of the Indre and crowned at 9.20 meters high, with a dome covered with a trompe-l’oeil painting evoking a costume ball at the castle.
Rising above the valley, the 5-star Chateau d’Artigny stands in a peaceful setting which is probably a glimpse of what paradise is surrounded by 25 hectares of park to rest, relax, be inspired strolling through marble statues.
